After 15 years of waiting, Mark Chipman of True North Sports & Entertainment made an announcement on May 31, 2011.  NHL Hockey will return home to Winnipeg!  The city celebrated at the historic Canadian landmarks of Portage & Main and at The Forks!

My son Max has been a member of Bae's Martial Arts since 2008 when he started at the age of 11.  I've been photographing his progress ever since.  I will post links in this article of all the tournaments, belt tests, & events I have been a part of as "the photographer" / "proud parent".

As just a fan in the stands, I was very lucky to record a moment of Winnipeg hockey history.. and it isn't the first ever opening faceoff at the MTS Centre! (shown below)

Started in March 2009, I have taken a weekly photo of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights to record its construction progress.  It has been interesting.

Help-Portrait is a movement of photographers who are using their time, equipment and expertise to give back to those who are less fortunate.  It was started back in 2009 by Tennessee photographer Jeremy Cowart as a charity event to provide the less fortunate an opportunity to have a family portrait produced by a professional photographer.  The Winnipeg version of this event was lead by local photographers Ian McClausland & Jim Todd.  They organized two teams to work at two inner city schools.  I have been very fortunate to be part of this very special event since the beginning back in 2009.
